Rovers are leaders, volunteers, and organizers, but they are also scouts themselves. The motto for this section is "Service", and Rovers live up to that by dedicating time to their individual groups, training other Rovers, and keeping OSG running, as well as to their communities outside of scouting. There is no upper age limit!
While all leaders of youth sections are Rovers, you can be a Rover without being a leader. There are opportunities to scout with other adults in the metro area throughout the year, including skill building sessions, "RoverNighter" camping and backpacking trips, and leadership trainings.
The Rover uniform consists of a green campaign shirt with epaulets. Many rovers choose to wear a beret or campaign hat and/or carry a scout staff. Rovers have their own badge program based around scout skills and service.
Never been a scout? No problem! The program is designed to help you grow your skills in a supportive environment. All we ask is that you have an interest in doing outdoor activities and helping your community!
